People who eat at least five tablespoons of tomato paste daily have 33% more protection for sunburn, according to a study conducted in the UK. Tomatoes contain the antioxidant lycopene that improve the skin’s natural SPF. This does not mean, however, that tomatoes can be used as an alternative for sunscreen.
